In 1980s the love dolls appearance was rather poor. As a rule, they were ugly vinyl of rubber dolls, having little familiar with men or women.. All they could offer their owners was an artificial vagina or penis. The quality of such dolls was so low that they could easily blow up during the coitus. Besides, some of them, made in the Third -World countries could be dangerous, as there was vinyl chloride in their structure. Nowadays, such dolls price is less than 50$.
The next step in love dolls making was latex usage. Comparing with the vinyl and rubber ones, their heads were more like mannequin ones.They had a wig , plastic or glass eyes, their arms and legs were similar to humans’. Some dolls could be filled with water. Each new doll from that line should have been washed carefully before using as on the surface of it could be zinc oxide . Latex itself is not toxic, but some people can get allergic to it. Such dolls are produced in France and Hungary, their cost is approximately 100$-200$.
In the whole Abyss Creation ( Matt works together with his wife and sister ) has prodused more than 1500 dolls and the average cost of each is about 6500$.
Japanese Love Doll market is broader than the American one. More than ten companies in so-called Orient Industry produce love dolls (also maned dutch wife - “datch waifu”). The range of dolls is rather huge - more than one hundred models. They even have a specialized magazines, Idoloid for example.
